Curt Smith on the New Album

Curt issued a statement on his Twitter page that they have 4 or 5 songs that they feel really good about. Recording will reconvene in LA at the end of June and will continue until they finish.

I think that 8.5 years is long enough to wait for some new material. I can’t think of another band that I’d want to hear new music from besides Duran Duran and Depeche Mode who are all working on some new material. Only time will tell if this new cd will stand up to their last one Everybody Loves A Happy Ending.

Welcome to Tears For Fears Fan

Welcome to my Tears for Fears Fan blog.  I think that before I  provide a disretation of the rules let me tell you a little bit about the band.

Tears For Fears was formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal, dob: 08/22/61 in Ha ant, Portsmouth, England, UK, and Curt Smith, dob: 06/24/61, in Bath, Northwest Sommerset, England, U.K.  They were joined by keyboardist and producer Ian Stanley, dob: 02/28/57 in High Wycombe, England, UK. and Manny Elias, dob: 02/25/53 in Bath, Northwest Sommerset, England, UK.  These 4 friends were together from 1983-1990 with the last one to leave being Curt Smith citing creative differences.

And now that you know the history of this band it’s time for a complete disretation of the rules.

1. No swearing and otherwise foul language.
2. No rumours/gossip.  Remember that this isn’t perezhilton.com, tmz.com, or hollywood.com or any of those other trashy gossip sites
3. The band’s personal lives are off limits to the fan base.  This includes, but is not limited to, their wives/girlfriends, children, or other family members.
4. No Orzabal vs Smith threads.
5. Have fun.  This is a place for fans to unwind and be themselves.

The OC Fair August 1, 2012 (Unconfirmed)

It looks as if the Bathonion Boys will be at the OC Fair grounds on August 1, 2012.  Nothing’s been confirmed yet.
